In Freak Off, each Freak's generation indicates the breeding layer it belongs to and represents its genetic distance from the Cyclone ancestors. The generation of a Freak provides insight into its lineage and the evolutionary progress it has undergone through breeding. There are six generations in total: Genesis, Cyclone, Hurricane, Typhoon, Gale, and Gust.
